Stage makeup is an essential part of costuming and allows for a dancer’s facial features to be defined when performing under professional stage lighting. This is something we teach our students to understand that there is a time and place appropriate for make-up and we use it to enhance the natural features of our face. 

Once Upon a Ballet™ & Little Dancer™ – Makeup for this age group is not required. However if your child wishes to they may wear some mascara ( if they will let you! ) and light red lip gloss. Hair will be high bun for OUB & high pony for LD.

Ballet students – Makeup for this group is foundation, blush, eyeshadow, mascara, eyeliner and red lipstick. Girls hair will be in a high bun. Hair must be neatly slicked back with gel and hairspray ( no flyaway bits please ). Boys are not expected to wear makeup, however hair is to be neat and off the face. Hairspray or gel may be required.

ALL students – Makeup for this group is foundation, blush, eyeshadow, mascara, eyeliner and red lipstick and girls hair will be in a high ponytail (unless otherwise noted). Hair must be neatly slicked with gel and hairspray ( no flyaway bits please ). Boys are not expected to wear makeup, however hair is to be neat and off the face. Hairspray or gel may be required.
